Why Swallowing Fluoride Does Not Create Stronger Teeth

It’s a simple idea that if we all swallow fluoride endlessly, we will have good dental health. Unfortunately, this concept is flawed as swallowing fluoride has never been shown to create stronger teeth. There is a difference between swallowing fluoride and using it topically. This difference is not mentioned by any “experts” that push water fluoride as the cure-all for all our dental problem. Dental health is a complex area that has many factors that can contribute to poor dental health, including genetics, mouth breathing, nutrition and pharmaceutical use. Aging and hormones also play a role in dental health. To reduce dental health to a simple fluoride issue is beneficial for politicians to make the public think that they care about us and that they are doing something good for our teeth. The truth is that they are wasting taxpayers’ money on a failed intervention.
