The Forgotten Wisdom of Florence Nightingale

--

Florence Nightingale was an advocate of nutritional healing. This has been forgotten in the modern age of public health when it comes to infectious diseases. All throughout 2019–22, we have not seen any global public health campaign to educate people about the importance of vitamin D, vitamin C, selenium, zinc in fighting infectious diseases. Somehow, public health policy makers suppose that the immune system does not need nutrients to function. The scientific evidence shows that micronutrients have myriads of roles to play in immune health. They are just ignored for quick fixes and lucrative drug marketing of new products.
